Virtual County Meet Team Scores for Winter 2025

After tracking results from 72 meets in the last 4 months, the inaugural county leaderboards are final! Congrats to everyone who cracked the top 20 at any point this season, either on their own or with their relay teammates. There’s lot of talent in Mercer County!

The leaderboards show who the top individuals were this season, but who were the top teams?

Presenting the Mercer County Virtual Meet for winter track 2025! I awarded points to the top individuals and relay teams in every event leaderboard and totaled them up to get each team’s score. Scores here will look much larger than you’re used to, for two reasons. First, to include more athletes and schools in the scoring, points went 12 places deep and were awarded Mario Kart style: 15 for 1st, 12 for 2nd, 10 for 3rd, 9 for 4th, and so on down to 1 for 12th. Ties, of course, split the points. Second, I scored all the relays, including the medleys and shuttle hurdles.

Obviously, comparing results from different meets is not an apples-to-apples comparison between teams. Having better SBs is no substitute for being able to string together strong performances from everyone on the same day to beat opponents head-to-head — here’s a friendly reminder that the Notre Dame boys and WW-P North girls won the CVC Championship in January! But Mercer County teams didn’t go head-to-head very often in February and March, which is when many top runners were trying to peak, so a virtual meet lets us compare more teams while also accounting for how they did during championship season. And you won’t be surprised to learn that the Notre Dame boys and WW-P North girls were the top CVC teams in this virtual meet, too!

Lastly, while I tried to catch every top performance — even when results weren’t published on MileSplit/Athletic.net or when athletes were competing for club teams — the leaderboards may have missed someone’s SB. If so, I’m sorry! For future seasons, feel free to send additional results to me on social media or trackmercer@gmail.com. That would be especially helpful for tri meets during spring track.

The winter track 2025 leaderboard will be archived here, and then it will start fresh in April with the first results from spring track. Looking forward to seeing how teams stack up in the spring track virtual meet!
