LARRY FALWELL
Trenton Central High School – Sprinter

Laurence John Falwell was captain of the 1940 TCHS State Championship Track and Field Team.  He specialized in sprints and won numerous titles for the Tornadoes.

Falwell excelled at the 440 Yard Dash.  He won the 1939 440 Class 4 State Championship.  

He came back to score runner-up the next spring at 440 in the state meet as he helped Trenton to win the 1940 team title--The first ever state championship for the TCHS program. 

Among his other achievements was setting a meet record of 50.4 in winning the “Big Six Conference” title for 440 yards in 1939.  He repeated as conference champion again in 1940, and he added a South Jersey Championship 440 gold medal later that season.
