CVC All-Conference Boys Teams
Congratulations to the CVC all-conference boys! These individuals were selected by the CVC coaches; Track Mercer only added the commentary and highlights. Also, the individuals within each team are listed just in alphabetical order. Click here for the girls list.
First Team
Felix Farrugia (Senior, Princeton). Farrugia had a huge breakout race at the Group 4 championship, running a Holmdel PR of almost 30 seconds to finish 31st in 16:55 and snag one of the last individual wildcards into the Meet of Champions.
Luke Ferrer (Senior, WW-P North). At Central Group 4 sectionals, Ferrer ran a Thompson Park PR of 16:43 to place 5th and lead WW-P North to a 2nd-place finish. He’s also one of only seven Mercer County runners to break 17 at Holmdel this season.
Tyler Hurst (Junior, Steinert). Hurst came into this season with modest PRs in both XC and track, so it was astonishing to watch him run 15:55 on the Robbinsville course at CVC divisionals! He backed that up by running 16:36 at Thompson Park to place 4th at Central Group 3 sectionals.
Agrim Jha (Freshman, WW-P North). Jha is the fastest freshman that Mercer County has seen since the Rosa twins almost 20 years ago. He ran 16:06 at Robbinsville, 16:46 at Thompson, and 16:57 at Holmdel. That last one made him the 3rd fastest freshman in the state!
Tarun Kovoor (Senior, Notre Dame). Even while dealing with an early season injury, Kovoor put together an impressive season, from opening with a 16:32 to win the Jerry Hart Invite to finishing at the Meet of Champions after running a big Holmdel PR of 16:53 at groups.
Shravan Pradeep (Senior, WW-P South). Pradeep was the undisputed MVP this season, dropping incredible times all season long: 15:17 at Robbinsville, 15:51 at Thompson, and 16:07 at Holmdel. In his grand finale, he finished 12th at the Meet of Champions, which is the highest that any boy from Mercer County has placed since Liam Murphy won it in 2019!
Burke Thompson (Senior, Hightstown). Thompson’s debut XC season almost didn’t happen after he picked up an injury in his opening meet. But his cross-training apparently worked wonders, became he returned in time to have an incredible postseason and qualify for the Meet of Champions! His PRs at Thompson Park (16:23) and Holmdel (16:42) were both #2 among Mercer County runners this season.
Second Team
Silas Allevik (Sophomore, Hopewell Valley). After winning the CVC Valley Division for the second straight year, Allevik ran 16:52 to place 6th at the CVC Championship. He saved his best race for last, running 17:00 to finish 28th at the Group 3 championships.
Finnegan Curley (Sophomore, Hopewell Valley). Curley finished right with his teammate Allevik for first place at the CVC Valley Division, and then had a great race at Group 3 sectionals, where he was 11th in 16:57 and led Hopewell Valley to a 3rd-place finish.
Aditya Deshpande (Senior, WW-P South). Deshpande’s reported 5K PR coming into this season was 18:44, but he quickly rewrote that record by opening with a 16:23 at Six Flags Wild Safari. He lowered his PR further by running 16:17 at Robbinsville, and he backed that up with a 16:56 at Thompson Park and a 17:17 at Holmdel.
Kevin Lang (Senior, WW-P South). Lang’s 16:12 at the CVC divisional championship was the 4th fastest 5K time by a Mercer County runner this year. He placed 7th at the CVC Championships and then ran 16:53 to finish 19th at Group 4 sectionals.
Mohamed Toure (Senior, Nottingham). Toure is a 400/800 guy who has never even raced a 1600, so it was very impressive to see him run 16:41 on the Robbinsville course for 3rd place at the CVC Valley Division race! He also ran 17:26 on the Thompson Park course for 20th at Group 3 sectionals.
Finn Wedmid (Sophomore, Princeton). After running an agonizing 17:00.10 twice at Thompson Park, Wedmid absolutely smashed the 17-minute barrier by running 16:36 to finish 12th at Group 4 sectionals. That’s tied for the 3rd-fastest time by a Mercer County runner at Thompson Park this year.
Max Whittle (Senior, Notre Dame). Whittle had an awesome end to his season, running 16:53 on the Greystone course to place 15th at the NJCTC championship. He then ran 17:14 at Holmdel in the Non-Public A group championship.
Honorable Mention
Subomi Allison (Senior, WW-P North). The 800m star Allison has run XC all four years, but this year he was on a whole different level. He ran 16:47 on the Robbinsville course and then 17:12 at Thompson Park, finishing 17th at the Central Group 3 sectionals.
Jordan Andrade (Senior, WW-P North). Andrade ran 17:05 to get 16th at Central Group 3 sectionals, which was the 15th-fastest Thompson Park time by a Mercer County runner this year.
Joseph Maddalon (Senior, WW-P South). Maddalon ran a big Thompson Park PR of 17:16 to place 30th at the Central Group 4 sectionals.
Grayson McLaughlin (Junior, Princeton Day). McLaughlin led Princeton Day to their best season ever, where they won the Non-Public B group championship. He then ran 17:10 at the Meet of Champions, which was the 9th-fastest Holmdel time by a Mercer County runner this year.
John O’Leary (Junior, Allentown). O’Leary ran a big Thompson Park PR of 17:18 at the Central Group 2 sectionals, qualifying for groups as an individual.
Veejhay Roy (Junior, WW-P North). Roy set a big 5K PR of 16:38 at CVC divisionals, and then he ran even better at Central Group 3 sectionals, where he took 14th in 16:59. That’s the 14th-fastest Thompson Park by a Mercer County runner this year.
Paul Wittenberg (Sophomore, WW-P North). Wittenberg had a phenomenal race at the CVC divisional championship, where he finished 6th in 16:19. He also ran 17:15 at Holmdel at the group championships.
