Mercer County was well represented by 32 athletes at the 2024 XC Meet of Champions today! Highlights include the Princeton girls getting 2nd, Allison Lee (WW-P North) getting 3rd, and other Top 20 finishes from Kajol Karra (Princeton), Zui Chinchalkar (WW-P North), and Shravan Pradeep (WW-P South).
Meet of Champions wildcards were announced today! See the full list of Mercer County auto-qualifiers and wildcards, along with a few more thoughts about yesterday’s Group Championships. And in other action yesterday, Peddie and Lawrenceville runners dropped fast times against their schools’ archrivals.

NJ.com selected sophomore Eowyn Deess as Princeton’s MVP. She beat her previous Holmdel PR by over a minute and gave Princeton three runners in the Top 20. As the Princeton Day boys’ MVP, NJ.com selected Grayson McLaughlin, who has led Princeton Day all season and continued to do so in the biggest race of the year. He bested his previous Holmdel PR by over 30 seconds.
NJ.com picks Princeton Day to win the Non-Public B boys championship over main contenders Moorestown Friends, Rutgers Prep, St. Rose, Wilberforce. The Grayson McLaughlin and Edward Letko are two of five “Runners to Watch,” and Alexander Chia and Michael Zhou can place in the Top 15.
Wilberforce is presented as the the favorite. Wilberforce is led by sophomores Micah Brox and Elias Edwards (who went 6-7 at last year’s state meet) and gets solid depth from Phillip Schidlovsku, Henry Jepson, and John David.
Princeton Day is in the next tier down (with Montclair Kimberley but behind Wilberforce). Grayson McLaughlin and Edward Letko were top-10 at the state meet last year, Luke Notle and Harrison Bagga are in the top 50 returners, and Charles West rounds out their top 5.
Last week we talked about the top Mercer County teams and the all-CVC individuals for this XC season. Before wrapping up the year, here are a few more teams and individuals that didn’t make either list but still deserve some recognition for their achievements.
